Sesame Almond Bars

Sesame Almond bars

PREP NOTES

I got the original version of this recipe from Brain Warrior Recipes by Tana Amen.   Its so yummy & gives you a little pick me up & keeps you feeling satisfied.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup Sesame Seeds
  • 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut 
  • 1/4 cup raw almonds (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 2 tbsp raw honey
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp ground sea salt
  • 2 tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • avacado oil - cooking spray


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients until well mixed (except cooking spray).
  3. Line an 8 x 8 inch glass pan with parchment paper so paper comes above sides of the glass pan. Spray paper with cooking spray.
  4. Spray hands with cooking spray & push the seeds mixture evenly into the pan, flattening the top. 
  5. Bake for 25 mins (approx). Let cool completely then lift out of the pan & cut.  Keep in airtight glass container.


NOTES

  1. I keep these in the smaller mason jars. They are perfect for keeping in the desk or cabinet for when you need a snack & something easy to grab that day. 
  2. I recommend keeping these in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to grab & enjoy.
